XD: resize artboard without the elements inside

Hi all,

Being a beginner, I have been struggling on XD a lot and I was wondering how to resize an artboard without the elements inside. So basically, what happens when I try to resize is the elements inside the artboard get squished together or spread apart... I was wondering if this had to do with the responsive resize. The toggle is on for most of the elements on that artboard. Any help is welcome. Link to artboard:
