Question

3.8 Bug

It appears that hours have gone by since the bug has been reported with very good descriptions of what each person that posted has been experiencing.   I have a fairy simple question.  When can we expect the issue to be resolved since I have clients that are asking me that same question?

Hello,

Which 3.8 bug are you referring to?  We have a few that we're actively investigating.  We have one html component / user input bug, 3603433, that we've been able to reproduce internally.  Once we track down the cause we can implement and test our fix.  I don't have a time estimate yet, but we'll update the bug report and related threads once new information becomes available.

If it's an option for you, you might also want to consider using a captive runtime for your application.  This way you can rebuild and include AIR 3.7, bypassing the bug introduced in 3.8.

Thanks,

Chris

The one I am referring to was posted by Pixel Doug

AIR 3.8 Bug - similar to no input bug, but input partially works on Mac

I hesited in posting this since it seems very similar to https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3603433, but in our case the input seems to be offset – so partially working, but off by over 100 pixels or so.

You can see an example by downloading our demo app: http://demo.2ndcousinmedia.com/widget and running it in 3.8. The video (from YouTube) cannot be started with the normal button or clicking on the image, but if you move your mouse to the lower right side of the video, you can see the hover take place and you can click to start. You cannot change volume, etc. The videos work perfectly in Air 3.7.

This is easily reproducible in different Mac environments. I just attempted it in Windows 7, and I am getting no input at all (Making me think it is the same as the bug linked above). Should I open a new bug in the tracker?

Thanks!

Doug

Thanks.  I've brought the Mac issue up to the team members working on the initial bug report so they can verify any change they make on both platforms.
