Adobe Air installer is not opening on Mac

Hi, I have downloaded the last version of Adobe Air but the installer is not opening. I have followed the steps written on this page : http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/troubleshoot-air-installation-mac-os.html , but after step 4 'after hitting enter you will be prompted for your login password" , the installation does not begin but instead here is what gets written:

"This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.

Please download the latest version of the runtime from

http://www.adobe.com/go/getair,

or contact the application author for an updated version."

Hi Sam,

Can you post your install log so I can see if anything jumps out at me?
