Adobe Air seems to install correctly but won't run

I launch adobe air.  It brings up the License agreement.  I click OK.  The pop up disappears and....nothing happens.  Adobe air does not run.  I have tried re-installing several times. I have shut off all my virus and malware programs.  I run as administrator.  But still same result.  I get the license agreement. and then nothing.   I check the files and it looks like everything is where it is supposed to be.  What am I missing?  I am running Vista 64.   Thanks for any suggestions!
