Adobe Air asked to be updated to 27 which I did and after updating it, the Control 4 app on my Mac does not want to load.

I did everything mentioned in the following post, but it did not resolve the issue: App with just Black Screen

System:

macOS Sierra 10.12.3

Hi,

I tried on Mac 10.12 /AIR 27.0.0.128 and it is working fine at my end.

Can you please specify whether the application is not loading or black screen is observed when the app is launched?

It will be helpful if you can post a screenshot of the issue you are facing.

Thanks.

I ended up doing a couple of things to get the issue fixed.

I uninstalled Adobe Air 27 and reinstalled Adobe Air 26.  Then I uninstalling the Control 4 app and then reinstalled it again and it fixed the issue.

However, I am nervous what is going to happen when my computer asks me to upgrade Adobe Air to 27.  And to answer your question the Control 4 app screen was just a black screen.
