Adobe Air will not update..

I have 3.8.0.1280 version of Adobe air installed and need to update.. When I update it gives me this error: an error occurred while installing Adobe Air... If I try to run it as an administrator ... nothing happens..

I am running Win 7 Pro... 16.0 GB ram ...  64-bit OS  ...AMD Quad X4 830 Processor   2.80 GHz
