Adobe Air3 Mobile performances,
Hi,
I've been working ona Tablet application (Android for now) on last two months and i've been through various performance issues with the 2.7 runtime,
now with the 3.0 some have been solved but alot still to be accomplished, here is the list of problems i have encountred on 2.7 and 3.0 no difference on that:
1) i'm still trying to understand why on GPU mode the Glow, blur effect have no effect on skins, used catalyst cs5.5 to accomplish the design task.
I remember to have read somewhere that those effects caused problems on mobile environment but what if its a requirement and you need it ?
Any workaround ?
2) I've been integrating the Revolt audio visualizer in my project, taking out all the visualization issua that were deigned for desktop and not for mobile, removed on enter frame listener for computations, added a less expensive timer, managed to calibrate correctly the timing to have maximum framerate but i'm still at a "decent" 13.5 fps which is good for testing, but not for production.
I would like also to understand in fact that actually i'm not getting 50% more power even packaging the application with air3. I'm having slightly better performances with the 3.0 over the 2.7, but for sure not a 50% more, now is it a problem of packager or what else.
I'm willing to try the Captive way of packaging the runtime but i'm not sure how to do it unless i can access to the Flash Builder 4.6 prerelease program.
Does anyone have performance info on the Air 3, or performance tips ?
