Adobe products dependent on Adobe AIR?

Good morning,

My company is looking at slmming down our desktop loads and one product that was mentioned was Adobe AIR. I'm trying to find a definitive list of Adobe products that are depending on AIR to run or function, but I can't seem to find one (AIR FAQs, forums, etc). Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

Just a follow-up to this, but I just got off a call with Adobe Support (thanks for the hour hold time!) and the customer rep told me that Adobe AIR is a necessary component of any Adobe product install. This confused me a little as I'm positive we've uninstalled Adobe AIR from some PCs that had Acrobat Pro running and we didn't run into any issues.

Unfortunately, I don't have a definitive list of AIR based applications. I'm sure you're aware, but the AIR runtime is only used when an application requires it. It's also possible, with our captive runtime option, for an application to be built that includes it's own copy of the runtime.

I believe that the Adobe suite installer (and possibly other online installers) also use AIR. Once installed, AIR might not be used again. Again, this really depends on the application.

When you mention that your company is looking to "slimming down our desktop loads", are you talking about system performance, drive space, or something else?

Thanks for the reply Chris. When I say "slimming down our desktop loads" I am referring to system performance, drive space and the elimination of products that aren't being utilized and that may have vulernabilites.

Example: Balsamiq requires Adobe AIR to function properly. Will products such as Captivate, Robohelp, Flash, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop cease to function correctly if we uninstall AIR?
