AIR 16 cannot install produced IPA file

Hi,

I have a problem with new AIR 16. I'm not able to install IPA files produced by this version, installation always hangs and have to be canceled.

My device is iPad, iOS 5.1.1, PC has Win 7 x64 + Flash Builder 4.7. I tried both stable 16.0.0.272 and Beta AIR 16, the problem is always the same.

I tested all my projects and all behave exacly the same, I even tried to create simple Hello world package and it has also same issue. I also tried to get new mobileprovision, but the problem is the same.

If I switch to any previous of AIR (13 / 14 / 15) the package can be installed without any problems and runs fine.

Thanks for info,

If needed I can provide the example projects etc.

Jiri

I emailed with Chris Campbell about this and he did state that they dropped support for iOS 5 about a year ago. However, I and others were perfectly able to compile IPA files that worked just fine on the original iPad up until the latest builds. Even the first builds of AIR 16 worked just fine on iPad 1.

He said he would ask for more info and get back to me. Let's hope he can clarify this and that the support can be back in because the change to 64bit should still support iOS 5.1.1 which is what iPad 1 is running.

The iPhone 3gs and iPod touch 4 still work just fine with iOS 6 and as the iPad is on the same level hardware wise, it should still be supported.

Hi, as i see in the AIR 16 Release notes, the supperted OS versions for IOS are : iOS 6.1 and above, so maybe it's normal that it don't work on IOS 5.1.1.

Hi,

Thanks for info, I supposed that there is some problem with the iOS version because this device is really old.

I could not find anything in AIR 16 Release notes, but it's mentioned in Adobe AIR Tech specs.

Adobe Team could you please confirm that iOS 5.1.1 (iPad 1) is no longer supported?

It might good to at least show some dialog on installation that device is not supported and not just hang.

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem with the latest 2 versions of the 16 SDK.

I can install the IPA on all my devices ( iPhone 3gs, iPad Retina etc... ) but not on the first generation iPad 1.

This has to do with the 64bit support I guess? It should still be possible to install on a device running iOS 5.1.1 though, so there must be something wrong.

Any ideas Adobe Team?
