Air 2.7 is installed but can't be opened to download Muse(Beta)

Hello There,

OS: Windows Vista Premium

I have just installed Adobe Air 2.7 to download and test the Adobe Muse(code name) Beta.

Whenever I click the Get Muse on http://muse.adobe.com/learn.html an error message appears:

"Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe Air from

http://www.adobe.com/go/getair and then try again."

So I did. The installation of Adobe Air 2.7 went smoothly. In fact I cannot re-install Adobe Air anymore because

whenever I tried to, a dialog box reminds me that the latest version is already installed on my system.

What probably went wrong?

By the way, there is a note on the Muse download link that says:

"Download and open the Air file to begin the installation"

What is this Air file anyway?

Legend

AIR is a runtime, a core set of files that Muse will need to install and run. Now that you have AIR 2.7 installed, if you go back to the Muse page are you still unable to install? If so, can you post back with your AIR Installer log so we can take a look at what was failing?

Hi Neros,

Thank you for providing the AIR installer log. After reviewing it, it appears to be failing while installing/updating Adobe Media Player (AMP) during the MSI portion of the installation.

Microsoft has just released a brand new tool that should help you resolve this problem. Would you mind giving it a try and let us know how it works for you? When running, go through the uninstall process and try to remove Adobe Media Player from your system. Once that is gone, give Muse another try. I'm also providing a direct link to the Muse installer. Save this .air file to your desktop, then double click to install once downloaded.
