AIR 24 Beta - What happened to File.cacheDirectory?

Why is this no longer available? We've been storing data in the iOS cache directory for years and can't figure out how to access it with AIR 24. Is there a new method to retrieve this somewhere?

Hi Matt,

A new feature "Permissions on Android and iOS" has been introduced from starting AIR 24.

To handle the permissions requests and status, We have introduced Permissions API for Android and iOS. The developers can request permissions for classes like Camera, Microphone, Geolocation, CameraRoll, CameraUI, File, and FileReference.

To read more, Please refer to AIR 24 release notes and go through the section "Permissions on Android and iOS":

Thanks,

Adobe AIR Team

I investigated the new Permissions api and when THAT didn't exist I discovered my AIR SDK was not properly overlayed onto the Flex SDK. This didn't exist because the compiler wasn't recognizing AIR at all! This is due to the new dmg file making the overlay process more hazardous.

The permissions API has nothing to do with this thankfully. Issue resolved.
