AIR 3.4 - Congratulations Adobe!

As developers we are the first to bicker and complain when things don't work the way we'd like them to.

This isn't one of those posts!

I am very impressed with the improvements in AIR 3.4 BETA

All of the memory crashes, lagging, etc I was seeing all the way to 3.3 have vanished.

I'm now swiping 60,000+ pixels on an iPad3 and it's butter!

So now my question....   how long is 3.4 in BETA?  now that my app is flying! .. I'm happy to go public!

The download page says "you are now allowed to distribute and test captive runtime versions of your AIR applications so you can publish immediately to marketplaces, such as the iOS App Store, the Android Market and the Amazon Appstore. We recommend you update your applications with the GM build when it is available."

However, the release notes expressly prohibit it. It would be nice to get some clarification.

Just installed 3.4 and it has a watermark in the top right corner saying its a 3.4 beta so you cannot use it for public release.

I'm not sure but I think what the download page means is that's new functionality included in the next release, however because 3.4 is in beta you are not allowed to distribute applications you've created at this time.

AIR 3.4 FINALLY fixed my CameraUI memory problems. I can actually take pictures on older Android devices! This is awesome news. Thanks Adobe! I would also like to know how long we will have to wait to go out of beta. I want to release my app asap.

Ah sounds like 3.4 might be yet another improvement worth looking forward to, hope it is ready by the time my next app version is. Somebody who (i think) is with adobe commented one of my threads on camera transparency problems in iOS and hopefully that gets fixted too.

Did it fix this camera UI problem, cchilds87?

Thats really been bugging me and I would rather not write an ugly android-specific work around.
