air can't run in the background,help me

I developing Instant Messaging program on android base air,When the phone enter sleep mode and not connect USB,The program will stop run in the background,all events can't dispatch,include netConnection event,timer event,but when phone connect USB,Although phone enter sleep,program can run is good.
