AIR doesn't allow phone sync software to work...Why?

I have an HTC phone that syncs with my desktop computer's Outlook. HTC's sync software is loaded automatically with Adobe AIR. When I attempt to open the sync software, I get the Adobe AIR license agreement over and over again, and indeed at random times during any computer session. I have loaded and unloaded the software several times. HTC doesn't know how to resolve the problem. In short, Adobe AIR is making it impossible for my sync software to work.
