AIR for iOS 8 - LoaderIOError

Hi -- we have a mobile game built in AIR, where we are getting sporadic IOErrors on iOS8 ONLY. We cannot reproduce here in the office, but we see from our analytics that it is happening to thousands of users. Also distressing is that there is a high likelihood that the some of our analytics calls may be failing, in which case the problem could be wider spread than we initially thought. At first we thought it was happening to about 10% of our iOS8 users, but it could be higher.

The error is distributed among every URL that we are trying to load in the game. Sometimes it happens with the first server call, sometimes the user gets through, is able to play for a while, but then it happens later on in the game.

The users for whom it happens to, it happens consistently. The only real clue that we have is that some users have reported that it happens on Wifi, but when they switch to 3G or 4G they have no issues. However, our analytics are telling us that it is indeed happening on non-Wifi as well (but possibly less often). I just ran a test with our Beta testers where we updated the version of AIR to the latest release (15.0.0.249). No change.


We are running out of ideas -- does anyone have any information or suggestions? Adobe, this seems to be a problem with AIR and iOS8, we need some serious help.
