Does Air support Airplay so that  any air app can be played/mirrored  towards a smartboard or Apple TV ?

Or does it require a developer to enable an app with code or an extension so it can be used with AirPlay ?

Any application can be played without extensions. Open preferences in iOS and enable AirPlay. This don't have any relations to Air

You can play the entire iPad to AirPlay, but I took the request to mean support for playing a video to AIrPlay. Like if you wanted the iPad to still show its video selection interface while the TV is showing the video.
