Amazon Cloud Uploader Error

I am trying to use Amazon.com Mp3 Uploader but keep receiving an error message stating that I need to install the latest version of Adobe Air. I have it installed. I tried doing a new install on both the Cloud player and Adobe Air but keep receiving the same error message. However, I am able to upload music. The error message is annoying but the program works. How can I get rid of the error message?

Hi Rick,

Can you try a couple of things for us?

First, remove the updater directory inside the %APPDATA%\Roaming\Adobe\AIR directory.  If you still encounter the phantom update, you can disable automatic updates entirely using the AIR Settings Manager described in this Adobe KB article:

Adobe AIR 2.0 auto-update capability

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

I deleted the directory....did not help. I downloaded the settings

manager but can't install. Windows says it does not know how to open it.

However, it is not an "Update Problem". The error message states:

"Something went wrong trying to install the application. Download the

latest version."

I downloaded the latest version. The program works, I can upload music,

but the error message keeps popping up.

Any other possible solutions?

Rick

Hi Rick,

The settings manager should be able to install.  Can you try installing the AIR runtime again from: http://get.adobe.com/air to see if that helps?  If possible please also attach any error message you receive (from either the AIR runtime installer or the Amazon uploader.)

Thanks,

Chris
