Hi,

Everything's in the title Now that AIR 3 and Flash Player 11 betas are available, I was wondering if someone had tried the new AIR 3 packager on iOS/Android (especiallly the hardware accelerated features) and seen significant improvements?

Thanks!

Frédéric

You are in the wrong forum... It's AIR 3 for desktop and it's the mobile development forum

Oops, my bad. I was thinking that AIR releases were always including all platforms. I guess I'll have to be a bit more patient then

In fact they are doing the AIR mobile version, but it's not in the beta as explained here :

NOTE: This beta release includes support for the AIR desktop runtime. The AIR SDK will be made available in a future release on  Adobe Labs, which will allow developers to build mobile and desktop  applications that take advantage of new AIR 3 capabilities including  captive runtime support, Stage 3D graphics rendering and Stage Video hardware acceleration. For this beta  release, we are requesting developers test their applications for  backward compatibility.

Where can it be gotten and is it possible to go back to 2.7 if all fails? I hope there are significant performance gains in 3.0, more than 5 children on the screen before slowdown.

You can get it here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air3.html

But obviously I didn't test it myself, so I don't know how easy it is to go back to 2.7 (but I suppose it is straightforward, just backup your Flex directory before doing the update)
