Will Adobe have an update which will change Flash's iOS export to accomodate for the new 1024x1024 icon policy (replacing the current 512x512)?

Update: I have discovered you CAN include the 1024x1024 iTunesArtwork@2x file with no extension when using command line. When I removed the extension, it turns out my computer was actually just setting the "hide extension" value to true. I had to go to "get info" and delete the extension there. So it was not finding the extensionless file because it actually wasn't there, it just had the extension hidden. If the iTuneseArtwork@2x file is included in your app's root directory I believe it should be able to pass inspection.

@evilches these kind of things can take several days or sometimes a couple of weeks to be gotten to and reviewed, I wouldn't consider it hopeless yet.

Just packaging iTunesArtwork@2x wont help. Icon file list needs to be updated in the Info.plist. It is with the help of these entries in Info.plist that iOS differentiates between icon images and other images.

What is the Info.plist entry that is needed to differentiate the iTunesArtwork@2x file? I unpacked my binary and inspected Info.plist, and I don't see any entry for the normal resolution iTuneseArtwork file, or any of the other app icon files. All I see is some basic settings like package name, version code, supported platforms, etc, and the plist manifest additions that i have configured. I was under the impression that iOS located the icon files by look at specific file locations, not locations configured in plist.

We are aware of the requirement and are looking into it.

Any update on this? It is now July (meaning the policy is in effect now) and we have no way to publish iOS apps. I was going to make my own angry thread, but I found this one.

Edit:

I would like to add that there is no way to include the 1024x1024 icon (iTunesArtwork@2x), even with command line.

If I make a file named iTunesArtwork@2x and tell ADT to include it in the command line, it will say no such file. It will only find the file if the .png extension is added, but the iTunesArtwork and iTunesArtwork@2x files require that there be no extension.

1024x1024 icon support will be available in the next AIR SDK prerelease. You can learn more about the next AIR mobile and desktop features by applying for our private prerelease program. By doing so, you'll get to know the features of the upcoming release in advance!
