Question

Best frame rate?

I've had a look on here and google for an answer to this but can't seem to find one. What's the best frame rate for a AIR-iOS game? I'm targeting the iPhone 4. I've read that making it 60 fps helps with touch events, but Flash sets the AIR-iOS to 24fps.

thoughts?

24 fps it's default by IDE option.

I think you use Flash CS5.5?

FPS depends on your requriments. For example if your app don't use any dynamic hightspeed motions - you can use 24fps and not more.

If you want smooth speed move - you can use 45fps. But also FPS strongly depends on CPU of iPhone/iPad/iPod usage. Complex things can't be done in high FPS so ideal range it's 30-35.

Thanks, yeah I'm creating the game in Flash CS5.5, my game wil require line drawing, so I'm thinking higher the better, but maybe 30 fps will be ok.

Also you may note - vector graphics looks very bad on mobile devices. It's pixelated with low quality without smoothing in realtime. But eat huge cpu power
