Best performance from AdHoc or Apple Store ipa

I know that I can, with an AdHoc Apple provisioning profile, publish my AIR-iOS ipa file as either an AdHoc or Apple App Store app.

I'm NOT publishing my app through the Apple App Store but my question is... is there any performance gain/cleaner code generated if I opt for Apple Store setting?

I think not, but something interesting to know is that a development certificate and profile works with the App Store build. So, I just use that these days, especially if I'm sending the app to someone to look at.
