Question

Camera selection on Asus EeePad Transformer

Hi

There is a front and back camera on the Asus EeePad but there seems to be no way that I can select the front camera.

Camera.names.length returns 1 not 2.

The wording on this page:

http://www.adobe.com/products/air/features.html

seems to spell out that AIR 3 on Android doesn't have front camera support, but elsewhere there are lots of posts saying that AIR 3 does have Android front camera support. One or the other is wrong.

You might look at Christian's article, in the hope that it's the AIR 3 features page that is wrong:

Thanks. It is puzzling that Camera.names.length returns just 1 when there are 2 physical cameras (I think).

I am using flex sdk 4.5.1.21328 which has Air 2.6. The release notes say you should not upgrade the Air SDK but these notes imply you can:

I will give it a go.

If you are looking at the same text I am, Colin, I think you are just misreading the product page:

"The front-facing camera support available with AIR for iOS and BlackBerry Tablet OS is now available on Android devices. Take advantage of the front-facing camera to connect users with rich video conferencing and chat experiences."

You do need the AIR 3 SDK to take advantage of this feature.
