Question

Can air 2.0 run an app written in 1.1.0.5790

Hi,

I am an IT administrator.  We have a server that is supporting an application that is 3 years old and was written by a third party (no access to source code)

The version of air installed on the server that is hosting the DB and hosting the webserver has AIR 1.1.0.5790 installed in it.

I am trying to migrate the server to new hardware.  My questions are these:

1. Do I really need to install adobe air on the server if it is only serving the data?

2.  If I do need to install air for the server to work, do I need to make sure it's version matches the version on the old server (1.1.0.5790)

3. If it does need to match, where can I download an old version of air?

Thanks in advance for your help!

It looks like you have a pretty old version version of AIR installed.  AIR is backwards compatible with previous versions, so you shouldn't run into any problems installing the latest version (2.5.1).  If you'd like previous versions of the runtime, you can grab them here:

Archived Adobe AIR Runtime and SDK Versions

Thanks,
