Can't export Certificate to p12 for iOS development

Hello,

I'm following the steps to export a P12 to develop one app for one my clients. After receiving his login + password for App, created the certificate, installed on Keychain with no problem (it says: "this certificate is valid").
But now I'm trying to export the P12 file, by righclicking on it. For some weird reason, the option P12 is the only one NOT available.

How could I export it? Everything seems to be ok, valid, green, etc. I'm on a Mac running the OS 10.7.3.

Thank you very much.

My experience is that the email address that you pick when creating the certificate signing request is very important. When I use the one that is defaulted the final .cer file opened up in the "My certificate" section of my keychain Accsess and could be exported into a p12. But if I changed the default email address into something else the .cer file ended up in the "Certificates" category and could not be exported as a p12.

Hope this helps anyone.

In my case the certificates were shown when I would select System -> Category = MyCertificates. I just dragged and dropped the certificates to the Login node in the left nav bar. It moved the certificates and was able to export as p12 certs.

Hope it will help someone.

thanks

Eventually we noticed that entering our Apple ID into the System Preferences (Users & Groups) seemed to solve the problem for us.

We had a similar problem: went through the whole process numerous times, step-by-step, but we simply couldn't export to p12.

In the Keychain app make sure Keychains - Login and Category - Certificates are selected. Then drag your certficate into the right pane with the rest of your cerfificates. Now try exporting. The File Format .p12 should appear as an option.

The same thing is happening to me and I don't really understand your solution. I just have a very simple Adobe Flash CS5 project on my PC and the only thing I need is to be able to export this P12 file but just like Demian that option is not available when exporting. I'm not using my own developer account on apple.com so the certificate I downloaded from there does not have my name on it, does that matter?

I'm supposed to just download that certificate and open it in Keychain Access, right? When I do that it shows up fine and also when I select the Certificates category but there's no key bundled with it, isn't there supposed to be a key bundled with it so I can ecport it as a P12 file or is there some other reason why I cannot do it?

Please help, I'm getting insane over this and I've looked everywhere for a solution
