Question

Can't install or uninstall

I run Google Voice desktop and Tweetdeck desktop, both of which require Adobe AIR to work.  On Wednesday, they just stopped working, citing Adobe AIR as the cause.

When trying to get AIR to work again, it told me that I needed to install the latest version for my OS (I run Windows 7-64 bit, and the AIR version would be 2.7)

When trying to install, it gives me a message saying that this version is already on my computer.  But when I try to uninstall it, I get an error message telling me that the program to uninstall AIR requires an updated version of AIR, and that I need to download/install 2.7...

So I can't install, nor uninstall, AIR 2.7 for Windows 7-64.  Here is my log:

[2011-10-02:16:45:04] Runtime Installer begin with version 2.7.1.19610 on Windows 7 x86

[2011-10-02:16:45:04] Commandline is:

[2011-10-02:16:45:04] Installed runtime (2.7.1.19610) located at c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR

[2011-10-02:16:45:22] Launching subprocess with commandline c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Resources\Adobe AIR Updater -installupdatecheck

[2011-10-02:16:45:22] Runtime Installer end with exit code 0

Please help!  I tried to roll my computer back, but it doesn't go back far enough.

I'm sorry you're running into installation issues with AIR.  Microsoft has just released a new utility that can help resolve installation problems.  Would you mind giving this a try and let us know how it works for you?  When running the Fix it, go through the uninstall process and try to remove Adobe AIR from your system.  Once finished, download the latest version of AIR and install again.

Microsoft Install and Uninstall Fix It

Thanks,
