Cannot install or update Adobe AIR

When I try to install Adobe AIR I get this error, "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator." I have looked through other forums on this topic but cannot find a solution that works. I have tried uninstalling it from programs and feature, but it doesn't even show up there, I have tried running a script that Chris posted in another topic but I get an error when it starts to try and delete files, I have tried to go into the command prompt and uninstall it from there directly but no luck with that either. Tried everything and  not sure what else to try if I could get some help that would be awesome.
