Question

Contract $$$ AIR specialist needed

Would you do some contract work for me by writing the code needed to load AND unload an online SWF onto a local AIR app?

My app opens an online SWF, but it uses the browser and the Flash Player to do so. I am moving away from the Flash player, so I want the SWF to load into the window of the pp.

I would like to send you a simplified version of the app and provide access to a server-based swf.

I am sure that we could negotiate a price that you would be fair to both of us.

Thanks!

Hello,

I believe that you are solving (patching) the problem on the wrong way !

I'm pretty sure that this may wrong on Android (maybe for now), Windows (maybe for now) and macOS (outside of the store) but not on iOS so this is not the global approach.

The best way is to convert your application in a real AIR application.

This is a Flash or Flex application ?

If you want, you can contact me.

Regards,

Hugo.

Developing in Adobe Animate CC. Using AIR28

Right now I am working toward Windows and Mac (desktop) only. Eventually, I will get to mobile apps as well. But my perspective is a little different than most. I develop and sell instructional videos for use in music classrooms. If I am able to make this step work, I will then consider moving toward mobile devices. But most music teachers use a computer as their principal teaching tool.

My product enhances that tool by allowing them to project animated instructional for the entire class to see. Those files guide the entire class through music exercises in real time. Each subscription has about 300 different instructional files of 5 minutes duration.

I would prefer that their only actual AIR installation be the "Table of Contents," which allows them to see buttons with titles of the material in their subscription. By clicking on any button, I can call up the AIR install file for any instructional unit. As you know, that files leads them through the install process. If they have to install every instructional unit, they will often have to use class time to do so. I can also use those buttons to open an SWF in a browser, which is what I have done for years. But Flash Player is increasingly difficult because of browsers taking great care with the security issues involved. So using Flash Player is not an option for this project.

So I am searching for the code to load, play, and unload SWF files in the "Table of Contents" window.

I have tried every SWF load code I can find, and each throws an error of some sort. So that is why I am willing to pay a contract fee for that little bit of workable code.

Thanks,

AG

I can probably solve this for you and maybe even more interesting would be to convert your instructional swf to html5 and display them within AIR in a webview which I can do as well. Contact me if interested.
