Error 13xx on Adobe installation

I got Error 13xx when installing Adobe Reader, as well as CorelDraw on a Win7 64 machine. Turns out WINDOWS is looking for a drive 😧 for some reason. I renamed my DVD drive to E: and inserted a Flash drive as drive D:. All problems disappeared and the installations went smoothly. Anybody else found this?

In case you haven't found the answer to this question, I'd recommend posting on the Reader forum to see if anyone there has a suggestion.
