error - iOS publishing requires files which are not installed

Hi,
I updated my OS to Lion and now my flash cs5.5 can't publish to OS.
The first error was 103 and I tried to make the solution for the xml version file, but also don't worked.
The second that I do is unistall flash and I install again, but now the problem is that; I can't test iOS movies and I can't publish to iOS. The error message is :
"iOS publishing requires files which are not installed. Please quit Flash Professional and run the original installer to ensure that all optional components are installed"
Someone with the same problem ? Any solution ?
I have all the Adobe software with the last version and now the Adobe air version is 2.6 but before was 2.7
Thank you
Xavi

This error is also caused if you download the AIR SDK for Windows on a Mac, or vice versa, which is ridiculously easy to do if get to the installer through Google.

Using the wrong platform SDK still shows that AIR version as installed, and even shows that "AIR for iOS settings..." dialog and everything, but trying to publish fails with the error above.

FYI, another forum entry also addresses this issue:

I had the same "IOS publishing requires..." error.

What worked for me: I was using a native extension (ANE) that was referenced outside of the project folder. When I copied the ANE into the project folder, deleted the old ANE reference from the ActionScript settings and then added the one located in the folder, everything worked properly.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

I get the same error message, but I am using Flash Pro CS5.5 on a PC with Windows XP. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Pro and Flash Builder but it did not resolve the problem. I was able to publish the same source files about a month ago and did a succesful test install on an iPad. I made a small change to the size of a slider and this error occured when I tried to republish..

After reinstalling, my Flash CS5.5 folder includes an AIR2.6 subfolder but not AIR2.7.  I checked for solutions in the forums, and this thread is all that I found. Any help would be much appreciated. Michael B.

Hi michaelbirch,

for me the solutions was lock the xml file. My steps were:

1. Save the fl project

2. Preview the project

3. Change version in ios settings and preview again.

4. Open the xml file and delete the iphone version , that appear at the end of this file, and look that the number of version is the same in the xml file and in fl settings.

5. Save and lock xml file

6. Now the configuration of my xml file and the flash are the same.

7. Save fl project and publish to iOS.

NOTE:This solutions works with air 2.6 and 2.7

I hope this steps help you

Thanks very much for the suggestion. Removing the iPhone section from the XML file didn't help but I may not have understood you correctly, An Adobe expert suggested relinking to my provisioning certificates but that didn't help. I also posted this discussion in the Flash Pro General forum. No answer yet

I was able to avoid the error and publish the IPA on a different Win 7 based PC. On that system the Adobe Updater updated several applications. The Updater did not offer to update these applications on my Win XP system - the one that gives this error - although I used the same CS5.5 install disc. MB

Hi,

my java version is:

java version "1.6.0_26"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03-383-11A511)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.1-b02-383, mixed mode)

I found a solution to my two 2 problems ("error - iOS publishing requires files which are not installed" and "error 103:)

For iOS publishing problem, I have unistalled flash and I install again and update it.

For error 103: I have blocked the xml file (it doesn't work, change number version)

Actually I have updated air version to 2.7

Thank you

Hi Xavi,

After upgrading to Lion (10.7), what does java -version on the terminal show you?

Thanks,

Amish.

Hi Xavi,

Are you still receiving this error?  Have you checked over on the Flash Pro forums to see if anyone else has encountered this?

Thanks,

Chris
