Error when installing an AIR app

Error: The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.

I have Windows 7.

Any idea what to do?

I recently started getting the same error message for an AIR 3.3 application that I was developing.

"The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."

The odd thing was that the installer was working fine until I updated an .mp4 asset that was being included in the build packaging contents.

The original MP4 was 140MB and the new MP4 was 540MB.

I'm not sure if there is a maximum allowable file size for AIR installations, but when I reverted back to the smaller video the AIR installation installed successfully.

So it looks like there is a maximum file size for .air packages, but it remains unknown. This post seems to think it's 466MB.

So if you're getting the "installer file is damaged", try reducing the size of your .air package.

Yes, file size is very tricky and unpredictable.  I'd actually recommend dumping the .air installers (even though they are handy) and using a captive runtime and your own installation utility.

Does anyone have any resolution to this?  We are trying to finish up a 6 month project, and the application that we have developed is experiencing this "installer file is damaged" error on install.  Install works fine on XP and Mac, fails on Vista and Win 7.

Please help!!!!!
