Question

Fast And Furious ? Candy Crush?

I opened up the Adobe Air app on my phone and looked through the list of games that were developed using Air, and some were surprising yet believable(i.e. Zynga Poker, Diamond Dash). Candy Crush is on  the list, but I haven't been able to find any other website mentioning it being developed with Air. Most surprisingly, Fast and Furious 6 was listed. One look at the game, and it's obviously not produdced using flash, so I'm wondering if they mean certain elements were created using Flash. Anyone have any enlightenment on the subject? Maybe I misunderstood the list? A clip of FAF6 is linked below.

I am not sure what it's purpose is, I assume that some web content requires Adobe Air?

I got it on Anrdoid and was hoping that when I opened the app it would show me lots of games / apps made in Adobe Air that I can then use / get on the mobile , but it hardly showed me anything, not sure if its a problem with the app..

Is this app even required ?

I don’t think it’s an app for letting you choose games. It’s the runtime engine that some apps need in order to work. These days we often make the apps with the AIR runtime included, so you don’t need the separate AIR app in order to run them.

The game they show is not Candy Crush, it’s another sort of crush. But the web version of Candy Crush is done in Flash, so there’s good reason to think the mobile app is done in AIR.

You seem to be right. From analyzing the apk it seems to be made with Unity (has a bunch of Unity and Mono-related libs).

Not sure why that's listed on starga.me (the portal that shows when you run Adobe Air).

Maybe Adobe is being cheeky and claiming the game was made using flash as unity exports a playable web demo in flash but that would be very cheecky of Adobe.. I would have thought they would only mention it if Kabam (who made the Fast and Furious 6 game used an element of an Adobe product.

Adobe does have about 10 tools that are for game dev but I don't think these will integrste  with unity
