We are facing performance issues when we try access files from the shared drives containing a large number of files (size in TB). Any ideas to improve the performance in such cases?

Hi,

I'm sorry you're running into this problem.  I haven't seen this before, though I've never had files of that size present.  Would you mind opening a new bug at bugbase.adobe.com and include any sample code or instructions that would help us recreate the performance impact you're seeing?

Thanks,

Chris

Hello Chris

Can't thank you enough for responding. The code is just to have a simple filesystemTree and try accessing a shared drive (with the data size in TB) . It takes almost 3 minutes to load the directory!!

The other issue is, it also shows the hidden folders in the root directories . For instance, if the user is using a Win 7 machine the Documents and Settings directory is hidden , but the user is able to see this folder in the tree. This creates confusion as the user does'nt see this folder in the windows explorer.

Your assintance on this issue would be of great help

Thanks

Kavitha
