Question

Full screen possible with acer iconia?

Hi guys, I'm creating a custom slide show app for the acer a100, and I set full screen in the application descriptor file. The 'soft buttons' at the bottome turn to ellipses but the space is not used by the app, I can see around 60 pixels are still blocked out at the bottom of the screen.  Is there a way to force this ?  I need the images to fill the screen.

What you see is how it is with Honeycomb. You won't get that space back, because there are no physical buttons on the device, so those always have to be there (but are at least dimmed). With 2.3.4 on Kindle Fire you get a similar situation, but at least they collapse the bar to 20 pixels.

Thanks Colin, I could have sworn on my Asus Honeycomb tablet when playing games it went "full screen".  Thanks for the feedback though, very frustrating!

When wondering what is possible I check the "big boys", and Angry Birds in particular. I figure that they have unlimited money to throw at such issues! With games from EA, GameLoft, and Roxio, they all just leave the bar at the bottom fully visible. They don't even dim it like you can with Flash.
