how many development certificates can you have?

I only have one development certificate which I use on an iMac at my work, I wanted to create one to use on my MacBook at home but it says I have the maximum and can't generate anymore.

Can you only have one development certificate? I'm sure i've had more in the past

When you get your first certificate from Apple you would then open that in Keychain Access, and export a P12 file. That's what you use for an AIR app. If you need to work on the same AIR app on another machine, you would send the P12 file over to the other machine. You don't have to get a new certificate from Apple.

Anyone that has the P12, and its password, can work on the AIR app.

how about if you need to work on the app on the other machine and you didn't email yourself that p12?

I used to have 2 development certificates - but now i can only have one it seems?

There should only be one certificate, and it expires every year. You can download the certificate on the other machine, export a P12, and use that. Might make sense to use the same password as you used on the first machine, otherwise it could get confusing.
