How many iOS customers do we lose by using Air?

Hi,

One of our clients are not allowing us to develop their app in Air due to the fact that it only support 3GS and above.

Are there any recent stats available that show how small percentage of the total market we will lose by this? I heard somewhere that each new iPhone/iPad/iPod cycle is selling about twice the amount of the recent one, but my guess is that we only will lose around 10%, since I think many of the old iPhone 2G/3G are not used to buy apps anyway.

But it's hard to convince clients without any stats

Thanks!

Today increasing populairy gets newsest devices. Countries with poor economics like Russia, Ukraine, Romania, India -  have iPhone 3g around 60% of iPhone holders, 25% 3gs and rest 17.5% it's iPhone 4G and 2.5 it;s 4S

So you no need to worries about populairy of older devices. Adobe Air works prefect on 4.3.0, iPhone 3GS, iPod, iPad1.

If you lose $20 from $1000 this is great because all who want to play or use app - will install new iOS or buy better device instead older one. Also you can't save 'we lose'... If Air was buggy due 2.6-2.-7 you, you have right. But today, looking on 3.1 - we get more work. My client select AIR for own animated book. We tryed it on Cocos2D and Xcode but it was slowly with comparing of AIR so I as flash developer have additional good incomming )
