how to control ios status bar?

I've seen a number of unanswered status bar questions, and I would like to hear the answer? chris.campbell​ maybe?

I have this in my xml

        <aspectRatio>landscape</aspectRatio>

        <renderMode>direct</renderMode>

        <autoOrients>false</autoOrients>

        <fullScreen>true</fullScreen>

and the status bar is there on ios 9 (not there on ios 😎

Tried to add

and it had no effect.

How to get rid of it?
