Question

HTML5 embeded video does not play via StageWebView in AIR for iOS on iPad 4 with iOS 10.2 and up

We have iPad app using Adobe AIR for iOS 21. In stagewebview we load h.264 MP4 video via html5 and it has been working with no problem. However, we just discovered that the html5 video no longer plays on iPad 4 with iOS 10.2 and up (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.3 beta). We tested with MP4, M4V and none of the videos play on these configurations anymore.

The video is still playing on newer iPad AIR with latest iOS.

Do you think it's an issue between stagewebview and newer iOS, or an issue between html5 embeded video with newer iOS? or something else?

Has anyone run into this issue and has insights and/or a solution for it?

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

I discovered the same problem with online courses that are published from Adobe Captivate (Version 8) to HTML5 with Progressive Download MP4 Video (Processed with iPad Codec).  the video play window now displays 2 Play Buttons that are offset slightly in the center of the video play window.  This problem started to happen with iOS 10.3.1 on iPad.

Have you tried using AIR SDK 25? Please give it a try and let us know if the issue persists.

Thanks,

Tried on AIR25.0.0.108 on iOS3 beta and the video does not show. in AIR 21 the video frame is frozen and not playing. We have video controls coded in the HTML5, we can step forward and step backward the video and see the frame jumps but it's just not playing. However, in AIR25.0.0.108 on iPad 4 and iOS 3 beta, the video box is completely empty now.

This issue occurs on older iPad 4 with new iOS (10.2 and up).

This question has not been answered but I accidentally clicked on the "Assume Answered", can it be reversed back to "Not Answered"? Thanks.
