I cannot install the latest Adobe Air on XP sp3

I get the following error

Sorry, an error has occurred while installing Adobe Air. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.

I AM the Administrator

I have uninstalled a previous version, hunted it out of the registry and off the hard drive, ran MS FIX-IT, rebooted

AND ...

It still won't install, giving me the same error.

Can anyone PLEASE help with this?

Thanks in advance

Hi Rick,

Can you post the contents of your AIR installer log?  Having this will help me diagnose the problem and suggest a solution.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris

I don't know where to find that file. I uninstalled AIR and there are no entries under program files either under "Adobe" nor ?Common Files". There is an entry left over in :

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\AIR which is the updater and

C:\Documents and Settings\Rick\Application Data\Adobe\AIR

There is no

C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\AIR\logs

There is not LOGS folder

I am not sure where to go from here

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hi Rick,

Would you be willing to do a desktop sharing session with me tomorrow?  I'm about to leave the office for the day but I'm open anytime tomorrow.  If this sounds ok, shoot me an email at ccampbel@adobe.com and let me know a time that's good for you.  I'll email back with further instructions.

Thanks,

Chris
