Question

I updated Adobe AIR and now it doesn't seem to work

I was playing the game 'Realm of the Mad God' on Steam, and I finally updated Adobe Air after using a very outdated version for a long time. Now when I try to open the game it gives me a message that says "Adobe AIR - The required native extension is missing for this application. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance."

I've tried reinstalling Adobe AIR twice, but that message continues to come up. Also, after downloading Adobe Air the only folders that come up are "Adobe AIR Application Installer" (which does nothing upon opening) and "Adobe AIR Uninstaller."

What should I do?

Hi,

RotMG uses a "captive" install of AIR.  This means that other than downloading from Steam, no other install is required.  RotMG installation contains all of the components of AIR required to allow the game to run.  Any update of AIR that you make to your system will not make any difference to this application.

If you can't launch the game, I'd try uninstalling and then reinstalling from Steam (or verifying the integrity of the game cache from within Steam's menus).

Thanks,

Chris
