installer file is damaged?

Greetings; I cant get an application to install that requires adobe air. I have windows 7, have re installed air,received a new copy of app, but I keep getting this,"The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author". Any suggestions?
