Question

iOS AIR 2.X to AIR 3.3 Update Possible?

i Have Air apps for iOS on the Appstore in Air Versions 2.0, 2.5 and 2.7

With the new possibilities in Air 3.3 i want to upgrade these to Air 3.3.

I have tried to upload  updates on iTunes Connect but i get  a message from the uploader that a different Air version is not possible.

I am aware that users on older iPhones than 3GS will not benefit from this update, but thought that they would be filtered out.

Any suggestions on how to update Air versions  ?

You can not use adobe air on arm6 and older. You must use arm7 processors. 3gs, 4, 4s, ipad1,ipad2,ipad3 and something from ipod touch

He means to say that you can't use AIR 3.x on ARMv6. Clearly you can use AIR on ARMv6, you already have apps that do that.

Apple's App Store rules say that you can't drop support for a device when doing an update. Changing to AIR 3.3 would mean that the older devices had been dropped, and that's why the uploading is failing.

Your only real option is to create a new product. Maybe you could add Retina support, and call the new version "HD".

If you are just doing bug fix updates, or feature improvements that don't involve new AIR abilities, then you will have to stick with publishing it from Flash Pro CS5.
