Question

Is AEC on Android in the plans?

Acoustic Echo Cancellation is a reasonable feature to have. But AIR does not have it on Android as of now. Does Adobe plan to add this feature in the future? If yes, any schedule? Thanks.

bump... AEC on mobile is very important! This is a somewhat show stopper for true video chat apps

I don't have any info I can give out right now, but I'll ask around and see what I can find out.  In the meantime, it couldn't hurt to go vote for the following two feature requests:

Mobile Accoustic Echo Cancellation / EchoSuppression

Air Android Echo Suppression/Cancellation

I had already voted for these features. But I have something to add about this voting: Some features should be considered beyond voting and public demand. Because they are justified by reason. Once a feature is dictated by reason, who cares if people want it or not! If they want that reasonable feature, they'll be happy. If they don't demand at the time being, they will be happier for new opportunities that can arise when that feature arrives.
AEC is a feature that is justified by sense and reason. Because we have it on desktops, so it is a good thing. Why not have it on tablet pcs? A previous discussion finishes by following statement: "according to mobile standarts, a mobile device should not have echo by definition" But android is beyond cell phones now. Day by day more people replace their PCs with tablet PCs for their daily needs. And it has echo, now. Tablet PCs popularity is today's spirit, and we flex developers should honor this spirit by developing beautiful applications for it.

If AEC on Android is a hard to get stuff, well, that can be an excuse for me as a technology follower. But hardness is but a motivation for a technology developer as Adobe.

I am a bit philosophical, I know, but long story short: Adobe, by her vision, shouldn't care about "votes" for a good feature.

Thanks,

Akad
