In the Nov 18, 2015 Release notes for AIR SDK 20, they mention mobile bug [Android] ASC2.0 compiled app report Type Coercion crashes with MovieClips in SWC. (3578605) being fixed.

My question is is this related to Bug#3562040 - ASC 2.0 compiled app report Type Coercion crashes with MovieClips in SWC on Desktop? If it is, does this mean that the desktop bug is fixed as well, or is it a still open issue?

The bug is not specific to Desktop or mobile, it applies to both, and is still in queue of bugs to fix. Sorry about the confusion.
