AIR 2.7 and AIR 3.0 both should work on iPod 3rd Gen with iOS 4 installed. If you are seeing otherwise, I request you to file a bug at http://bugbase.adobe.com. Please mention the exact iOS version.

Thanks,

Sanika

It is a iOS3 upgraded to iOS4.

Can there a possiblity of the certificate or provision file to be wrong?I hope that would have given me a different error message.

Since the error  message is "...not comparible...", i assume this is something to do with older iOS version.

iPod touch's must be at least 4th generation. iPhones must be at least 3Gs.

I think Joe, and the Adobe web pages, may be wrong about it needing iPod Touch 4th generation. See here, that the two use the same processor:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPod_Touch#Specifications

and here, where in one thread someone tried it on a 3rd generation iPod, and it worked:

AIR 2.7+ does not support 3rd gen iPod touches anymore. I've tried it with 2.7 and 3.0 and neither install to my 3rd gen iPod touch. I don't know what that other person really tried, but it doesn't work.

I have no idea why it was changed either, since the hardware is identical to 3GS and yet 2.7 runs on 3GS. It'd be nice to hear a real explanation as to why the change. Joe?
