I am an iOS software engineer and I have also fixed a lot of errors in iTunes like iTunes Sync Error 54. For any type of installation of any application in macOS, the control panel plays a very useful role. It may be an internet issue. Then just uninstall google play and again install it else follow this path

Type start > Type control panel >  Control panel > Programs and features > Find iTunes and install it > Install this section also :

Apple software update

Apple Mobile device support

I've seen this happen if my provisioning profile that I bundle with the ipa does not include the device I'm trying to deploy to.
