Linux webcam resolution

According to http://forums.adobe.com/message/2874921 the AIR team is aware of the issue of the low webcam resolution in Air on Ubuntu.

Is there any indication when a resolution will become available?

Does this problem occur on other Linux distributions as well?

I've confirmed the problem on Ubuntu 10.10 with the latest Air installer.

Hi Bas,

This problem exist in AIR and the flash player. I'm only interested in the status of the status of the flash player.  As far as I know they stop only with the air app on linux not the flash player. Adobe just released a flash player 11 release candidate.

As I'm typing this I see this is a Air forum. Sorry for asking this in the wrong forum.

@all

But if someone knows something about the status of this point for the flash player?

What's the status of this problem?

I have the same problem with flash 10.3 with a flash application build by ouwerself's and de webcam recorder on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/my_webcam).

We having this problem on two different ubuntu 10.4 computers.

Hi Marcel,

Since Adobe decided not to support Linux any longer, I don't think the bug will ever be fixed.

This is currently still open, to fix and logged internally as #2586239 (AIR) and 2589240 (Flash).  I took a look at the bug comments and other than Ubuntu, there was no other specific distribution was mentioned.  I don't have a date for a fix but we are aware of it and it should be addressed in a future build.  Please feel free to ping me for status updates on this thread or at ccampbel@adobe.com.

Unfortunately, the problem exists on Fedora 14 and OpenSUSE 11.3 as well.
