Mac OSX Sierra cannot open application because it is from an unidentified developer
Hello Adobe Staff,
Our application Shearwater Desktop always runs into an "Unidentified Developer" error and causes the install process to become unacceptable.
We package the file on Windows 8.1 using Adobe Flex 4.6 and code sign using a purchased certificate from Thawte. (We have attempted to sign with certificates from Xcode as well). Once compiled we commit the project then run the following Shell script to create the Mac installer (.dmg file):
adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore airSigningCertificate2018.p12 -storepass password -target air ../ShearwaterDesktop_mac.air DiveBook-app.xml DiveBook.swf bin/ShearwaterConnectorMac bin/ShearwaterConnectorMac_LE builddate icons
adt -migrate -storetype pkcs12 -keystore Shearwater_SHA256_2016.pfx -storepass password ShearwaterDesktop_mac.air ShearwaterDesktop_mac_migrated.air
adt -package -target native ShearwaterDesktop_$1.dmg ShearwaterDesktop_mac_migrated.air
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Download our application from our website here: https://www.shearwater.com/downloads/shearwater-desktop-download/
It immediately should pop-up the certificate issues on OSX Sierra.
These are our steps to fix the issue: https://www.shearwater.com/troubleshooting/shearwater-desktop-3-0-8-certificate-issues/
We have tried contacting Apple technical and administrative support and they have delegated the task to you, we have been struggling with this for some time now and would appreciate any advice.
