Question

NetGroup and Wifi Direct

Hi,

is there any (hopefully an easy) way how to establish a multicast connection with Wifi enabled devices to a Wifi Direct enabled device the similar way as when connecting to a router?

I tried WifiDirectANE and logged its network activity which shows me it is broadcasting on 192.168.49.xx regardless of what IP I set in groupSpecifier.

I can connect that to that broadcasting device only if it connects to some other wireless network through 192.168.1.255.

I am not really good in network so sorry if there are some misunderstandings in my description.

EDIT: If I establish connection to Wifi-Direct Group Owner device and it is already connected to some other wireless network, I can find devices connected to that Group Owner.

Even after disconnecting GO from that router devices can still communicate with GO but if I leave the group it is not possible to connect to it anymore, I can only manage to make a connectian via sockets.

So the connection to router somehow helps to find neighbors...?

How can I achieve that connection without help of a router?

Thanks for any help!

Anyone can help with this? I badly need to establish an ad-hoc network (NetGroup) using Wifi-Direct access point where Group Owner is also in the NetGroup.

Is Adobe staff reading this forum?

Thanks!
