Port PNG and JPEG encoders to PHP

Hi

I'm contemplating a port of PNG and JPEG encoders from AS3CoreLib, to PHP

Trying to gauge a demand for such a library

The obvious benefit is the speed of processing - converting a huge bitmap to PNG or JPEG might be slow on a low end device

Comments/suggestions are welcome

The later encoder was blindingly fast. On slower devices it changed from say 15 seconds to 1/4 second to encode an image. Do you think you could upload an uncompressed image to a server, and download the compressed file, in under a 1/4 of a second?

I'm just trying to figure out if there is a demand for this.If the new encoder does the job - great.
