I have recently purchased a new Mac and loaded the most recent version of AIR but now when I try to run it I keep getting the following message

This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.

Please download the latest version of the runtime from

http://www.adobe.com/go/getair,

or contact the application author for an updated version.

I am also getting this message when I try and run the uninstaller so I can I can try and re-install.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

having Firefox open when launching an AIR app worked for me. thanks. already had auto graphic switching disabled when this issue started for me. not sure if having Firefox *AND* auto graphics switching disabled is the key so be mindful of possibly needing both.

Disabling the Automatic graphics switching in the Engery Saver preferences pane work for me as well. Thanks for the work around!

OMG that works!  I can't tell you how long, in days, I have been trying to figure out what went wrong with my Times Reader 2.0  This was it.

Turning off (unchecking)the Automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saver preference pane.

Thank you.

I am having the same problem. I own a MacBook Pro purchased in early 2011. I am running OSX 10.7.2. I CAN NOT INSTALL OR RUN Adobe Air or Adobe Air applications.

HOWEVER - I have found that all will install and run OK if I turn off the Graphics card switching and run in the Discrete Graphics mode ONLY!!  This is done by turning off (unchecking) the Automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saver preference pane.

ADOBE - PLEASE fix this. Now that you know the problem it should not take you long to issue a repaired version of Air.

Thank you! I can be reached at wownut54@gmail.com

To quote my own message "This is done by turning off (unchecking) the Automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saver preference pane. "

I'm having the same problem on OSX Lion.

I have, however, been able to install/uninstall Air in Safe Mode.  But when I reboot into the normal mode, Air doesn't work.

Running OSX 10.7.2 on a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8GB of RAM.

Is this the error you are getting when you are installing AIR 3.0?  Or is this the error you are getting after you've already installed AIR 3.0 and attempting to run AIR applications?  If it's the latter, which applications are you trying to run?  Can you please send us your logs so that we can investigate further?  Thanks!

I had AIR 3 on my MacBook Pro before I updated it to Lion. I use AIR 3 to run McMillan Study guides Master your CDCs. when I updated my mac to lion and tried to run the application the application couldn't find AIR 3 on my mac. So I uninstalled it and tried to install it again. when I tried to install it the installer program doesn't open. please help me this program is crucial for my upgrade training.

Hi A1C PD.  I am sorry that you are having issues with AIR.  We have had reports of users having trouble with AIR 3 and Mac OSX Lion.  Some workarounds:

-Have FireFox and/or Chrome opened in the background while attempting to install or launch AIR runtime and/or applications

-Upgrade to latest Xcode through Apple App Store

Please let us know if any of these workarounds can temporary fix your problems.
